My Day At The Bean
Today I must say was a very interesting day. I decided to join some friends at a local coffee shop. The name of this new Mecca where the iced coffee is not badly priced and the conversations are an interesting change from the diatribe of people bitching about weddings, boyfriends and the usual rantings (believe me the usual rantings can sometimes and most of the times get annoying) is named Moon-beans. This new place for me is a fresh change of pace compared to my usual nightly haunt. Don’t get me wrong though I enjoy going to Chop on a nightly basis but sometimes and I say this lightly sometimes it’s just a nice change to go somewhere where the scenery is definitely different. I decided to go when I received an open invitation by my close friend Anthony and decided sure why not I’ll check out what this whole Moon-beans thing is all about.
When I arrived there I went ahead and purchased an iced coffee they call Moon Mud. Yeah you read that right Moon Mud, but I will recommend to strongly stay away from the Moon Dirt. It’s actually the left over grounds that they use for plant purposes and etc. So here I am at a new place and with new people of course Anthony, Kennedy were there and as well my friend Benjamin who also took the open invitation from Anthony. So like I was saying there I am meeting new people and having conversations and I must say that I was not even concerned that I didn’t bring my net-book over to do some writing. I normally take my net-book to places when I get bored and it allows me to work on my writing. And, when I arrived I noticed that worrying about not bringing over my computer was moot. The concerns that I was worried about and as you read this you are probably thinking to yourself “Chew you get nervous and freaked out about meeting new people) yes I do actually but I was basically not worried if they would like me or not but the idea of meeting new people is what freaks me out. Call it a stigma from my early childhood or maybe I’m a little bit touched in the head but meeting new people scares the shit out of me but once I got into the conversations I started to calm down and also it helped knowing that I already had friends there as well. I know, I know you are probably asking what did you guys talk about? Well I’m getting to that sheesh you guys are pushy hehehe no worries the conversations were basically some of the same conversations that are held at Chop but with a lot less shrieking and overbearing tones of volume and attitudes. The conversations ranged from politics, what jobs we do and finding out that a girl who is a feminist is happy playing the role of happy home maker that’s what made me laugh and give her the look of WTF. But all in all it was nice to change scenery and try out a different place for a change. But, of course I wouldn’t trade Chop for Moon-Beans but it’s nice to know that I have a choice to spend some time on my lazy Sunday afternoon. As, I sit and reflect on this day which I hope that it won’t be the last because I actually enjoyed going out into the world and believe it is scarier than people will let you believe but, I’ll trek out there more often and to Anthony and yes even you Benjamin thanks for inviting me and allowing me to join this different circle of people and gaining a new experience that I am grateful and happy to be a part of. And, that I allowed this new in the many new experiences at the Bean. With this I say this is The Chew signing off till the next time which might be sooner than you think.
