And, Where is The Batman
Hello all, Chew here with another gripping review. I decided to do things a little different this month and decided to review a game that hasn’t come out yet but will be out when you read this. What is the title of this game you ask? Well let me tell you. It is the very much anticipated new addition to the Batman franchise series of games. And, it’s called Batman Arkham Asylum.
And, I must say from what I’ve played of it. Ok, so it’s the demo but boy what a demo. I’ve already had my name on the Pre-Order list for some time now but I wanted to give you (my readers) a chance to hear it first hand from me on how this game plays and when I say it kicks some serious ass, believe me it does. The game will be coming out for the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3 respectfully. The version I’ve been trying out is the one for the PS3. I’ve decided to give you a bit of the plot and as well how the game plays and first let me say that the play is pretty good the controls are very responsive and easy to get used too. The game is very reminiscent to Bioshock. Most of the game is played from Batman’s perspective through an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective, similar to that of Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space. The game will balance out between Batman’s Detective skills and his fighting prowess which is something that some other games have failed to do properly. The action is centered on Free Form combat which allows you to string up combos and really nail the bad guys and is also awesome to watch the slow motion scenes. Well I think I’ve explained the game play enough to get you going now I think it’s time to give you the plot of this exciting game which is very simple and at the same time complex. Now I understand not everyone follows the comic, and that won’t hinder your enjoyment of the game but the plot goes like this. Basically the game begins with Batman apprehending the Joker after foiling his latest plot and is escorting him to Arkham Asylum for imprisonment. Due to the Joker’s recent attack on Gotham City’s Blackgate Prison, a large number of sane convicts have been transferred. Shortly after arriving, however, the Joker, with the help of Harley Quinn, frees all the inmates and locks down the Asylum with Batman, Commissioner Gordon, and most of the staff still inside. The Joker then threatens to detonate bombs all over Gotham if anyone tries to enter. Batman must uncover the full extent of the Joker’s plan while contending with the horrors of Arkham. Sounds good doesn’t it? I know I can’t wait but I’m going to have to until its release which will be on the 25th of August. So go get your copy and let’s try to help out the Bat clean up Arkham and put The Joker in his place. And, that’s all the time I have for this month so keep a look out for my next review. I promise it’ll be smoking. This is game master Chew singing off.
